Europe 2015
This is how our plan played out...

Our trip to Europe was to visit with Nicole who finished her MBA, in Barcelona, in March...how could we not visit! Don’t you agree?

Departing Halifax on March 25 (12:20am) we arrived in Barcelona around 5:00pm. (Staying at the Hesperia Presidente hotel.) We had a great tour guide who showed us many things we had not see on our brief first visit. One highlight was a concert of Beethoven's 5th Symphony on Friday evening.

On the 29th we travelled to Paris by train. (Staying at Floride-Etoile hotel for four nights.) The ride through the country side (6.5 hrs) was very interesting with huge farming tracts and vineyards.  Here are a few highlights of our Paris stay:

On day two we traveled to Poupry, the ancestral home of Bob’s ancestral family.  Four brothers left there in the late 1600s or early 1700s and traveled to Nova Scotia – these boys were the forefathers of virtually all of the Fougères in the province. It is a very lazy little village.

Day three included a visit to the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral and, in the evening, a dinner cruise on the Seine, enjoying the Paris of lights.

April 2 we were on the Eurostar train, through the Chunnel and into London. To experience the Chunnel was on our bucket list -  it was not terribly interesting but at the very least we had the experience.

We had three sleeps in London. (Staying at Kensington Close Hotel) We didn't have a lot planned for our stay in London but we did go for a ride on the London Eye, a visit to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, and a tour of Royal Albert Hall and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

On April 5 our direct flight took us into Halifax about 3PM – another adventure under our belt.

We did add pictures each day as we travelled; the editing is almost done but we are still doing tweaks.  Keep checking back.
