After leaving Copenhagen early in the morning we arrived at the airport to the most weird and wonderful runaround either of us had ever experienced. Confusion as to where to go, a very long line up to check our bags and on to the plane without breakfast. We had given ourselves plenty of time to have a leisurely breakfast at the airport - the best laid plans! To make things worse our plane was delayed leaving and that caused us to miss our connection in Munich. That caused a bit of a tail spin but, after an hour or so trying to get the airline to get things straightened out, we ended up in business class for our flight to London.
On arrival it was a trip on the Heathrow Express high speed train into London's Paddington Station, then the 'TUBE' to our hotel. That worked out ok. We barely had time to freshen up, and then were off to dinner and the theatre to see Wicked.
The second day we took it slow and were off about 9:30 to the Tower of London (it is a major fort - who knew? - Sam did!) Next was a visit to Tower Bridge, then a river tour to Westminster and back home to get ready to see The Book of Mormon.
The third day we went to the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace - so many people we didn't see much but we do have some pictures of the area and the march on. A visit to the Royal Mews completed our "palace" visit then we walked to Westminster Abbey. The book forewarned us about the line up (about 50 min). Survived that and did the tour; most interesting - getting in touch with the past. The tube from Westminster took us to Selfridges & Co - as in the TV series 'Mr. Selfridge'. Then back to the hotel to get ready to go to our next show..Billy Elliot.
