Glacier Bay
This is our first stop

PanThis panorama has two things about it that are impressive I think:

First of course is the majesty of the scene. This is a huge hunk of ice that has been there for a few thousand years and is moving.

Second is the fact that to get this banner I took six pictures and with Photoshop I was able to put the six pictures together and it looks pretty darned good.

This gives you some idea how big the glacier is.

Sam's favourite picture from this trip.

The things that look like shards are most interesting. As the glacier is moving it squeezes the ice until the crystals are forced up from the centre sections. As the ice is pushed up it drags some of the debris, it has dislodged, up to the top of the glacier. That is why it is so dirty looking.

What a view!
