The Mediterranean Sea
In 2009 we took a cruise on the Mediterranean Sea.
We, together with our good friends, Ernie and Stephen, flew to Barcelona via Montreal and Frankfurt. Upon conclusion of our trip we flew back to Halifax from Venice via Frankfurt and Ottawa. Take a little tour with us. |

The Cruise:
Day 1 & 2 - Barcelona
After boarding we stayed on board for orientation to the ship and set sail on the night of day 2.
Day 3- Monte Carlo, Monaco
Now we see how the rich people live. That day we were on a tour to Nice and Eze. Curious? Check it out.
Day 4 - Livorno, Italy
That day we visited Pisa and Lucca. If you have a leaning in that direction you may want to join us.
Day 5 - Civitavecchia, Italy
This is where we docked to visit Rome - that was a great day, we really did see the Vatican and a few other things.
Day 6 - Messina, Sicily
We are still in Italy.
Day 7 - A day at sea - lots of stuff to do on board. We are on our way to Greece. Read more
Day 8 - Navplion, Greece
Day 9 - Katakolon, Greece
That day we visited Olympia, the site of the original Olympic games, and sampled a bit of the grape at a winery; check this out.
Day 10 - Kerkira, Corfu
We are still in Greece
Day 11 - Dubrovnik, Croatia
It has not been long since the war in that region - it was totally amazing how there was such little sign of the war after a relatively short time.
Day 12- Venice, Italy
This was the end point of the cruise but we did spend a couple of days getting to know the city. There was a lot of water and we had a great time; exploring, a concert, food and wine.
Then we headed home; that was all there was to it. Except for our efforts to get through customs. That is a bit of a long story but will share just in case you are interested. Read more.
We hope you enjoy your adventure with us.
