Experience in Microsoft Office

General

Because of my professional background these systems are every day tools of the trade. I have extensive experience because I have been working with them since they were first introduced to the market. (That just tells you how old I am!)

Access

  • Self Taught:
When I retired I did not have hands-on experience with the actual development of Data Base (DB) systems. Shortly thereafter I decided I was going to learn the 'how to's' of Access. To accomplish that I purchased a rather large book, opened it to page one and began.
  • Examples of My Work:
This is a list of some DB systems I have built since then:
    • Membership List:
As part of my leadership role in a political action group, that included several hundred individuals, I developed and maintained the membership DB. With this DB we were able to control contact information and membership details:
ie: start date, dues, membership status, etc.
    • Movies:
I am a movie buff and I have built a DB that controls all pertinent information on each movie in which I am interested and, if I have a copy, where it can be located in the filing system. Of course the data can be searched and sorted several different ways - ie: name, date, genre, etc. There are currently about 2,000 movies and tv series in the DB.
    • Church Offering Records:
I have built and continue to support a sophisticated DB that is designed to control membership information, all offering amounts by category and that provides related reports including annual charitable receipts. The DB has been in use for several years now.
    • Manna for Health Food Bank:
I have built a DB to help control client and operational information and to provide related reports. That was in use from 2014 to 2019 when Feed NS introduced their own system.
